Health & Fitness

My hiatus from exercising may not have been planned, but it has definitely made me realize how much I miss it. I know there were days that I dreaded getting up early to go on that training run, or head to the gym. But it wasn’t until now that I realized how much it was an important part of my life.

Here is a list of things that I miss. I hope that it will serve as motivation as I go from the Couch to a 5K (and beyond).

  1. My runner friends.
  2. Getting up on Saturday mornings to run on the trail.
  3. Sharing my workouts to Instagram. You know if you don’t post it, it didn’t happen.
  4. Signing up for races.
  5.  Zumba class with my favorite, Marta!
  6. Early morning Body Step class with Jaz-Pizzazz.
  7. Strength training.
  8. Buying new running gear.
  9. The amazing sisterhood that makes this journey so much fun.
  10. The dreaded 20-miler and having to wake up at 4 a.m. to get it done.
  11. Post-race grub and protein shakes.
  12. Racecations.
  13. Mercedes-Benz Marathon Weekend and our BGR meet-up.
  14. The Hellmaster, I mean Stairmaster. I can‘t believe I miss it either.
  15. Running past Pepper Place on a beautiful, Saturday morning.
  16. Seeing my Fitbit steps shared on my timeline.
  17. Run Disney and the character stops.
  18. My Mom calling to check on me during my long-runs.
  19. My RivFit (Riviera Fitness)  gym crew.
  20. Pure relaxation and feeling accomplished  after double-digit miles.

I think I’ll print out this list and post it to my refrigerator. Sometimes you just need extra motivation!

One of my girlfriends took on a vegan-raw challenge, which reminded me that I never shared my results from my 21 Days of Raw! I guess I was so excited to complete my first (and last…lol) taste of the raw life, it totally slipped my mind.  Moment of transparency: I’m not even going to fake […]

Rock It Red

I don’t know why the old school song…”Rock It, Don’t Stop It” is in my head, but it totally flows with the theme of what I’m about to share. INTRODUCING…ROCK IT RED!  Being an ENELL Ambassador, I was able to get a sneak peek AND get my hands on the beauty that is this brand […]

Sometimes you have to make things happen. I mentioned in an earlier post how much I really missed taking classes. I took them faithfully for almost three years until I started marathon training and switched gyms. BODYPUMP is an organized class, perfect for those looking to get lean, toned, and fit. Being a distance runner, […]
